Had two very good interviews with U.S. NTDP members yesterday in goalie Jack Campbell and forward Jason Zucker, both of whom were key factors in that trifecta of gold medals earned by Team USA in the 2009 and 2010 under-18s and 2010 WJC.
Both pretty much blew me away with their professionalism and poise. Best of all, they spoke from the heart and I didn't get the feel that it was all cliche or lip service.
My piece on Campbell is already up over at hj.com and Zucker will be forthcoming.

Also spoke to Derek Forbort, so we'll have something on him as well.
Have to believe that some of the rumors about an Eastern Conference GM saying Campbell could go as high as No. 3 overall were fueled by the interviews he conducted with 21 teams. He had to have made quite an impression, to say nothing of his outstanding play to bring him here. Ditto Zucker, who gave some of the most intelligent and thoughtful answers to my questions of any draft prospect I've ever talked to going all the way back to the 2001 draft.
Watch these guys on draft day and don't be surprised if both of them end up going earlier than most project.
