...the mighty Blackhawks!
Congratulations to the 2010 Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks who got an OT goal from Patrick Kane tonight to beat the Philadelphia Flyers and end their 49-year cup drought.
They proved that good things come to those who wait, and now, the longest team between cups is the Toronto Maple Leafs who last won in 1967.
More on this tomorrow, and I know this is a Boston Bruins space, but it wouldn't be a hockey blog without wishing the Windy City team (and one I've had a soft spot for since Al Secord was traded there when I was eight) well.
Enjoy the party, Jonathan Toews, who was the captain and well-deserved Conn Smythe Trophy winner, leading the team with 29 points.
I'll maybe re-open this and expand, especially since there were a couple of former Bruins guys who were a part of it.
