If you're a Bruins fan, life isn't so hot right now, but this team has surprised a lot of folks in the playoffs this spring, and there's no better time for redemption than Friday night.
If the Flyers make it four straight, then Boston will be only the third team in NHL history to lose a playoff series after holding a 3 games to none lead, and nobody wants that to happen. Unfortunately, the fact is-- the B's took two huge hits in the losses of David Krejci and Marco Sturm for the balance of the playoffs and their offense has gone south as a result.
This game is all about confidence, and you need look no farther than Montreal and what Mike Cammalleri and Jaroslav Halak have done for that team, or even Simon Gagne and Michael Leighton for the Flyers.
I believe that the Bruins will find it in them to prevail. This team has a lot more moxie than people give them credit for, and a little adversity can bring out the best in anyone. Of course, that's a hopeless optimist's take, anyway.
For you cynics, if the Bruins lose, then they'll own the 15th pick in every round, given that Philly and Montreal, the seventh and eighth seeds, will have advanced and moved into that bottom-four bracket that the being a conference finalist brings. It's not much of a silver lining, but it's something, right?
